What’s 800 million dollars worth, if my people die from thirst? If our livestock and crops die from thirst? We cannot buy those lives back that will be lost. No amount of money will bring them back. We cannot sustain our peoples’ honest, sacred, and traditional way of life without that water to nuture the land and people. There will be no future for my children or grandchildren. Please help my indigenous community!

Subject: Tell Arizona Senators Kyl And McCain to drop SB2109! Leave the Navajo And Hopi Peoples’ water rights alone!!

Hi,

My name is Collyn. I am 19 years old from the Navajo Tribe. I am of the Black Sheep Clan; and am born for the Towering House Clan. My Maternal Grandfather’s clan is the Red Running Into the Water Clan, and my Paternal Grandfather’s clan is the Water’s Edge People. I am here today because my people are in dire need of your assistance concerning the Indigenous Peoples Water Rights. I hope you are willing and able to help the Navajo and Hopi peoples cause.

I signed a petition to Sen. John McCain (AZ-1), Sen. Jon Kyl (AZ-2), and 2 others which says:

“Please drop SB2109. The Navajo and Hopi people need the water from the Little Colorado River for their way of life and now Senators Kyle and McCain want them to give up their rights so they can give the water rights to large corporations! This is wrong! Please help the Navajo and Hopi people fight this!”
